The major reasons why we have disrespectful/disgraceful children nowadays is the lack of parental care and parental neglect respectively.
Some parents chase money, enjoy having fun and look out for their businesses. Unfortunately, they fail to pay attention to their children.

For instance, there are parents who do not know the classes/ departments their children are in at school.
Some do not even know when their daughters undergo their first menstruations. How would they know when they don't care?
Few days ago, a parent beat his daughter to death. Can you imagine that!

Now, gather evidence for yourself.
Ask that your neighbour who often beats up his/her children when last he/she took them out on a treat.
They have all the time in the world to pummel them but don't have time to teach them, share life's issues with them and take them out occasionally to give them the needed exposure and adventure.
It's appalling to see an African parent who takes to walloping a child as a preferred correctional measure.
How many children has beating changed?
In spite of all the beating, we still have cultism and fraud on the rise daily in society.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CHILDREN
The home is supposed to be a safe haven for children. Sadly, it is not to very many children due to domestic violence. Many a time, children become victims of domestic violence; at other times they are emotionally abused because they witness a parent's or guardian's abusive behaviour.
Studies have proven that exposure to long-term violence at home, whether it is directed at the child or not, has a long-lasting negative effect on the child. These children are also at great risk of becoming victims of neglect as children, and abuse, as they mature.
